Call Before you Dig!

The Gallatin Department of Electricity owns underground electrical facilities throughout the City of Gallatin.  Anyone doing any type of excavation work is required by law to provide at least three working days advance notice to underground facility owners who may be affected by the excavation.

GDE is a member of Tennessee One Call System.  Tennessee One Call, a not-for-profit corporation, is a state wide one call notification system which was developed to provide excavators and the general public the ability to inform multiple owners of underground facilities of intended excavation with just one phone call.  So, before you dig, call Tennessee One Call at 1-800-351-1111.  GDE and all other utilities will be notified that you are digging.  We will then flag or mark the location of any underground power lines in your work area.

Through teamwork, we will be able to promote a higher level of public safety, reduce underground utility damage, minimize utility service interruption and reduce on the job injuries.
