Green Power SwitchThe Gallatin Department of Electricity is now offering the TVA Green Power Switch program. The money you add to your bill for Green Power goes to promote clean, renewable energy sources by harnessing the power of the earth, sun and wind. Each block of 150kwh you purchase adds $4.00 to your monthly electric bill. Call the office at 452-5152 to sign up or for more information go to www.greenpowerswitch.com.
Security Light Installation
The installation and maintenance of a security light are available for a monthly fee.
Project Help
Project help is a voluntary program for consumers to contribute a dollar or more each month to help the needy with their energy bills. Money collected is distributed by Gallatin Cares.
Levelized Billing
Levelized Billing payment amounts will be based on electric bills for the most recent 12 months. The bill will still show the actual number of kilowatt hours used and the bill amount for that particular month. Customers participating in this program must have a minimum of 12 month's service at the same location and all payments must have been made in a timely manner.
Residential Energy Efficiency Program
In cooperation with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) , loans for the installation of an electric heat pump are available to residential consumers who qualify. If you plan to build a new house, ask about the Energy Right New Homes Program.
Life Support
Customers who depend on life support equipment should notify our office. We will strive to reduce outage time for you.
Third Party Notification
A copy of the late notice can be sent to a specified third party before we disconnect service for failure to pay an account.
Electrical Wiring Permits
GDE issues state electrical wiring permits for the City of Gallatin. Permits are required for new or rewiring of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Night Depository
GDE has a night depository for making payments after hours. You may also pay by night depository at Gallatin Gas & Water Department or at the City Hall.
